Distractions.

“Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.” 1 Timothy 3:14-15

Distractions, they are everywhere we turn.  The building in the attached photo certainly is appealing to the eye with the colors blue and red that symbolize main colors of the Haitian flag and those tall multicolored flags outside and beautiful artwork on the sides; don’t be distracted as evil lurks within.  If you didn’t know the Truth about the Savior of this World and how much your Heavenly Father truly loved you and was really slithering around in that building…you might be curious and go and see what vodou was all about; don’t be distracted by this sinful world.  Live as a child of God’s household and not a member of this sinful world.  Do not be distracted.  Today, I am closing with words from the fifth verse of the hymn ‘I AM forever Who I AM’ from Kurt Von Kampen.

Each generation looks for truth and doubt can trouble age or youth.  If other gods would take your place, remember us with love and grace.  Reclaim us if we go astray; You are the Truth, the Life, the Way.  I AM forever WHO I AM.  Above you, beneath you, around you and within you; be still and know that I am God.

Dear Heavenly Father, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown.  Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Amen.

May God be with you…Jay
