I am praying for you.

“Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains.  Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.” Ephesians 6:19-20

Every Wednesday morning at 7:20, the Elders and Pastor Smith at my congregation gather around the altar and pray out loud.  We celebrate having a God who is always with us, give thanks for all that God has done for us, confess when we have strayed and pray for our congregation, families, friends, country, state, city and those who have strayed.  When reading these verses from Ephesians, we can imagine that the Apostles like Paul, Peter, James, and John were daily praying for others.

There are many things in our fallen world that too often, conspire against such a commitment to prayer; daily prayer.  Our busy schedules, our intense desire to give our kids the best education and life experiences we can, and simply forgetfulness.  Satan does that to us.

We need to strive to be in prayer daily; for us and for these kids in Haiti.  Praying for God's people was forefront on the minds of the apostles in the early church.  They counted on it from those they served.  Dear brothers and sisters, the members of the Trinity HOPE board of directors ask you to pray for them and these Haitian kids.  Please pray daily that the Lord's message will spread rapidly throughout Haiti and be honored wherever it goes.  Pray too for an end to the chaos that fills the streets, that those kids will be rescued from wicked and evil people.

Please, make praying for others, here and there, a high priority.  You will join the mission of God and participate in unleashing God's mighty power in their lives.

Heavenly Father, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown.  Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Amen.

May God be with you,

Jay
