Waiting...

“When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.”  And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.” Hebrews 6:13-15

Here it is, my final message for the year and then some time to rest; mind, fingers and eyes needs some time to rest; my eyes need a lot of time to rest.  I’ve been waiting six decades for God to place His healing hands upon them and His timing and mine are not in line yet.  Have you been waiting for something this year or for quite some time?  When we wait upon God we are in really good company as generations before us have spent years waiting.  Consider what Paul wrote about Abraham in the above scripture; years and years he waited and trusted upon God for the answer.  What are you waiting for today?  A physical healing, a new job, a child that has strayed away from God to return, an addiction to cease, an answer to your financial problem or maybe just to have the winter warm up a few degrees.  Man has been waiting upon our Triune God for all time and He has never ceased to hear us; we are not the only ones who have sat in His waiting room.  Our Heavenly Father waited thousands of years before sending Jesus to save us from our sins.  Today we are waiting for Jesus to return and give us the promised Eternal Life awaiting us.  Waiting is essential to your faith.  I am still praying and waiting for more to join me in the Matthew 25 Project that Trinity/HOPE started; that too is in His time.  I am closing this last Saturday in 2017 with the words from the hymn ‘I Am Trusting Thee, Lord Jesus’ that were written by Frances R. Havergal in 1874.

“I am trusting Thee, Lord Jesus, trusting only Thee; trusting Thee for full salvation, great and free.  I am trusting Thee for pardon; at Thy feet I bow, for Thy grace and tender mercy trusting now.  I am trusting Thee for cleansing in the crimson flood; trusting Thee to make me holy by Thy blood.  I am trusting Thee to guide me; Thou alone shalt lead, ev'ry day and hour supplying all my need.  I am trusting Thee for power; Thine can never fail.  Words which Thou Thyself shalt give me must prevail.  I am trusting Thee, Lord Jesus; never let me fall.  I am trusting Thee forever and for all.”

Dear Heavenly Father, you have called your servants to ventures of which we cannot see the ending, by paths as yet untrodden, through perils unknown.  Give us faith to go out with good courage, not knowing where we go but only that your hand is leading us and your love supporting us through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.  Amen.

May God be with you…Jay
